BCSO investigates reported burglary, sexual assault at St. Helena Island home

ST. HELENA ISLAND, SC (WTOC) –

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary and sexual assault that was reported Tuesday on Club Bridge Road on St. Helena Island.

Officials say just after 6 p.m., Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a residence on Club Bridge Road regarding a report of burglary and sexual assault. The victim advised an unknown African-American male came to her front door and asked if she needed any yard work done. She declined and thought the subject left, but he then entered her residence through an unsecured door. The subject presented a handgun, sexually assaulted her and then left the residence on foot.

The subject remains at large and is described as tall with a slender build in his twenties, wearing dark pants and an off-white shirt.
