Family pleads for missing Cherokee Co. teen to come home

GAFFNEY, SC (FOX Carolina) –

The family of a missing Cherokee County teenager is continuing to ask for help finding her.

Relatives said 16-year-old Anna Rose Blanton has been missing since May 8 and they are afraid for her safety.

“There’s a lot of bad people out there,” Anna’s mother, Joyce Blanton, said. “They hurt their own kids, they would hurt mine.”

Blanton said Anna left of her own free will but the family is desperate for answers about where she is.

“There ain’t no telling who’s got her, what’s going on,” said sister Kristin Pennington. “We don’t know and we can’t find her.”

Anna was last seen wearing a cream tank top and blue jeans with holes in the front. She is described as having a thin build with blond hair and green eyes. Blanton was reportedly last seen in Spartanburg County with another teenager.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office. The Blanton family said a reward is being offered for information leading to Anna’s return.
