We’ll have our last day of scattered afternoon showers and storms today along with oppressive heat and humidity before a cold front moves through and brings some temporary relief.
This morning expect warm and muggy conditions with patchy fog and perhaps a rogue mountain shower. Highs will reach the lower 90s in the Upstate and middle 80s in the mountains with a mix of clouds and sunshine until storms develop early this afternoon in western North Carolina and spread into the Upstate this evening.
A few storms, much like the last few days, could produce isolated wind damage courtesy of 60+ mph wind gusts. Things will quiet down more tonight with lows in the middle to upper 60s before warming up to the middle to upper 80s with sunshine, slightly lower humidity and no storms on Sunday.
Monday will be very similar except a touch warmer and muggier with more cloud cover without any storms. Pop-up showers and storms return to the area in limited fashion Tuesday through midweek, and will become more widely scattered by the end of the week as heat and humidity gradually build back in.
