Coroner: Man dies after motorcycle jump over gravel pile

ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) – Authorities say that a man has died after what appears to be a risky motorcycle jump over a gravel pile at a road construction site in Anderson County.

Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore told multiple media outlets that the body was found early Saturday on Highway 252 in Honea Path.

Shore said the rider appears to have driven through an area of road under construction, turned around and tried to jump over the pile of gravel. Shore said he died upon landing after severe neck injuries.

The person’s name wasn’t immediately released. An investigation is ongoing.
