Suspect arrested in vehicle pursuit linked to death investigation


Late yesterday afternoon, Investigators with the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office obtained an arrest warrant on 23-year-old Dylan Seth Raborn for Accessory After the Fact. This arrest warrant comes as part of the death investigation that began on August 4, 2017. Around 11:30 pm, on August 11th, investigators received information that Raborn was at the Ashley Motel located at 4874 Jefferson Davis Highway.

When investigators attempted to arrest Raborn, he and another suspect, later identified as 30-year-old Kristopher Buckland, fled in a silver Honda. As the suspects were fleeing the parking lot, they struck a parked vehicle where investigators and deputies began the pursuit. During the vehicle pursuit, deputies reported that Raborn, hung his upper body out of the passenger window and fired several shots towards them.

Shortly after the pursuit entered Richmond County on Gordon Hwy, Richmond County Sheriff’s Office deputies took over the vehicle pursuit from Aiken County Sheriff’s Office deputies. Both suspects were arrested by Richmond County Sheriff’s Office at the end of the vehicle pursuit. It was reported that both suspects do face charges in Georgia. Raborn and Buckland will be facing additional charges that pertain to the vehicle pursuit. No deputies were injured during this pursuit.
