CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) – A riverside restaurant in South Carolina is unscathed following flooding and a fire.
Local media outlets report emergency crews responded to reports of a fire at the California Dreaming restaurant in Charleston late Monday afternoon. Firefighters observed smoke coming from the lower level and first floor of the building before extinguishing the fire.
Investigators from the Fire Marshal Division determined the fire originated in a storage room on the ground level, and was likely related to flooding that impacted electrical equipment.
In a Facebook post earlier Monday, the restaurant posted a picture of the building that showed its lower level submerged. The post was updated the after the fire to say neither the flooding nor the fire impacted the restaurant itself, which will reopen when power is restored.
