“We did it to stand out, but we’re definitely standing out now,” said Stedman Strickland. “We didn’t know it would get this big.”

A tweet of the boys on prom night has reached 189,000 likes and another 28,000 retweets.

“I posted it that night and originally I didn’t think anything of it, and it just started blowing up,” said Nick Louvier, who posted the original tweet.

The attention from the suits goes even beyond Twitter. Shinesty, the company that made the clothing, has reached out to the boys directly

“They want us to spread some love on Twitter and Instagram and possibly become ambassadors for their company, maybe work out some internships or something like that so there are some very interesting opportunities coming along,” explained Taylor Lyle, who was also contacted by the Green Bay Packers for his his Packers-themed suit.

Some people online poked fun at the stunt, but the teenagers aren’t taking it too hard.

“I’m Lucky Charms, Gary Busey, and a character from ‘Courage the Cowardly Dog’. I was known as Pajama Boy. And somebody said I look like Fes from the show ‘That 70’s show,” explained Alex Bellan, Graham Hlavac, and Chad Doiron, other funky-suit-wearers.

Luckily, the boys’ dates didn’t mind the suits too much.

“I actually got my date a money corsage, it was like origami dollar bills,” said Holt Stockett.

“Oh, prom was amazing,” said Lyle. “My beautiful girlfriend, she loved the suits, and her parents loved the suits.”

So what’s next?

“Just know the suits are not going anywhere,” said Strickland.

“We’re definitely going to remember this forever, for sure,” added Louvier.

Looks like these boys are well suited for the fame.
